On April 3rd Alaskans Together successfully slowed efforts by ultra-conservative Alaska State Legislators to deny health benefits to same-sex couples during the "Advisory Vote" to amend the Alaska state constitution. Now the organization is seeking community input to develop a long-term strategy to determine how to use resources; what issues should be the center of focus; what strategies should be created and followed; what organizational form should be developed; and how the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgendered) community, its friends, families and allies can be most effective. People and ideas from the first organizing meeting at the Noel Wien Library in March contributed greatly to the campaign’s success. Come and share your energy again.
The Noel Wien Library is located on the northeast corner of the intersection of Airport Way and Cowels in Fairbanks.
